Last 2018, I went through probably my hardest years so far in my life. I was questioning everything. I felt helpless and hopeless. I stumbled upon Slowly, and downloaded it on a whim.

Ever since then, I’ve talked to a lot of people. It’s been a great help for me, expressing myself without fully disclosing my identity, and the people were almost always respectful enough. I also met a person who was like me, right now I’m still talking to her, I feel like I’m looking at myself in a mirror.

She was kind and she didn’t really show it properly, but the more she talked the more I understood her, beyond her words, beyond her bluntness.

Seeing her send a letter everyday made me giddy. I was delighted seeing letters everyday. It was more than a pastime. It was therapeutic in a way. I’m not sure how long we can keep on talking, but Slowly has already showed me how wonderful these people are, and I’m really thankful for that.

On a sidenote, living in this generation where messaging is so convenient, the pace is also nonstop. Sometimes it becomes too much. Slowly is like a gift, it makes you see things ‘Slowly’ as the app itself is named, and it makes you appreciate every letter, every word, every meaning in those words. 

To understand, that was my goal. And so far, Slowly has helped me plenty on that.
