What do you do when the world is suddenly plunged into waters of fear and uncertainty? One option is to turn to an app where you know you’ll be greeted with reassuring words from both friends and strangers alike.
I’ve only used Slowly for a few months now, and I can’t stop recommending it. Like many others, I stumbled upon this lovely app by accident.
Best. Accident. Ever.
Instant gratification is such a prominent trend in our society. Slowly challenges this norm, though, and I find it to be refreshing. Rather than rushing through a message and expecting someone to reply to me right away, I feel encouraged to relish in every word I write and rest in the knowledge that someone will receive a well-thought-out letter soon.
Slowly has reminded me of how important it is to forge deep and meaningful connections. It has given me hope on the days where I feel stressed or lonely. It’s shown me the humanity that’s present all over the world. It’s given me the opportunity to learn others’ stories and connect with people I never dreamed I’d be able to.
Earth can be a scary, chaotic place, but it feels more like home when you know there are people thousands of miles away who are willing to face the challenges here with you.
I’m truly grateful to be part of a community where each user seems to care about my well-being. Here’s to many more letters! ✍️
